Numbers Keep going up and up![]() Greg Sterling, an analyst for Sterling Market Intelligence who closely follows the local market, says Google is where most folks go to find local information. In January, Google had 178 million visitors, according to ComScoreMedia Metrix. The measurement firm doesn't include Google in its directory of local sites.
But in that ranking, ComScore has Yelp attracting 26.1 million users, followed by YP.com at 24.8 million, Idearc's Superpages at 17.3 million, Citysearch's 14.3 million andYahoo Local's 13.3 million visitors. According to researcher Borrell Associates, which tracks advertising trends, local-online advertising will grow to $16.1 billion this year, up from $13.7 billion in 2010. |
